Where to park in Wieliczka
The right car park depends on which route you take through the mine. The Tourist Route starts at the Daniłowicz Shaft, the Miners' Route at the Regis Shaft in the centre. At ul. Daniłowicza 13, about 30 m from the Daniłowicz Shaft, there is a car park with 180 spaces where you book a space online for a specific day and receive a QR-code ticket by email.
From there it is about a 4-minute walk to the Saltworks Castle, about 5 minutes to the graduation tower and about 7 minutes to the Upper Market Square. The car can stay in one place for the whole day of sightseeing.
Getting there in peak season
Wieliczka sees the most cars during majówka (the early May holiday period in Poland), the summer holidays and long weekends. On those dates it is worth setting off earlier, planning to arrive before the busiest hours and having a space booked before the streets around the mine fill up.
